ABOUT FILEWILE :

Filewile have fully integrated their former guest singer Joy Frempong and session bassist Mago Flueck, to explore the possibilities of the «human element» as a positive influence to the total control previously exerted by Dustbowl (Andreas Ryser) and Dejot (Daniel Jakob) through their machines. Joy Frempong's love of experimental lyrics and song heightens the sparkling vibe Filewile exude with every chord. In her lyrics, Joy Frempong cunningly moves between childish nonsense and the abyss of human existence. Two tracks on the album see the return of Brooklyn born rhyme artist RQM to the Filewile fold. RQM further enhances the album's genre bending quality and the impossibility to pin the sound to any particular country.

This phrase from the CARLOS REISCH song repertory gives experienced music lovers an idea what this ensemble is about: Seventies funk meets today's live rap plus a pinch of jazz - and the musical symbiosis of this young, emerging band from Nuremberg, the metropolis of Franconia, is in full effect. Live sound at club parties, a normal thing in the old days of funk, has almost disappeared from today's clubbing and music scene. Carlos Reisch mourns this extreme loss of party culture. The atmospherically dense mix of funk a la MACEO PARKER, JAMES BROWN or BOOTSY COLLINS paired with hip hop a la A TRIBE CALLED QUEST or THE ROOTS creates an explosive sensual frenzy. Elaborate song arrangements as the basis of the band's own compositions, underlaid with the driving groove of the rhythm section, facetious jazz harmonies and funk riffs, sharp interludes from the horn section, and above all that the texts, partly sung, partly rapped, in German, English, French or Spanish by the charismatic vocalists, are the very promising characteristics that make this band so special and individual.

Lars Binder on Tour

Lars Binder ... who? Lots of you may ask yourself: Who is this Lars Binder, although you probably have noticed him many times before unconsciously. As the drummer of „L 14,16“ a multiple-award-winning band he already celebrated successful concerts at home and abroad and was decorated with the „Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik“ by the German trade press. Now the drummer and componist himself is the front man of his band „Jazz Syndrom“ and is introducing his first CD as a bandleader where he is surrounded by leading musicians of the German jazz scene.
From the musical point of view groove and sound oriented compositions of Lars Binder with partly very personal, sometimes almost chamber musical elements up to highly energized impulsive moments are featured.

Unfortunately thank god no more a secret hot tip: „Ich bin Ausländer (leider zum Glück)“
Once handled as the secret hot tip track of the album „Ich bin Ausländer (leider zum Glück) (= I’m a foreigner (unfortunately thank god)) has evolved into an unexpected hit among school kids.
We were told that mp3s of this track are being heavily exchanged on German school yards. No joke!
This might also explain why „Ich bin Ausländer“ can now be found in several German radio playlists even without any radio plugging.
And saving the best for last: the Torpedo Boyz are currently working on a music video for this song!

“The Disco Song” – “Making Of” video online now!
It’s been a while... Some two years ago the Torpedo Boyz starred in a video for their disco smash hit „The Disco Song“ (from the album „Cum On Feel The Boyz“).
We thought the “Making Of” tape got lost but just recently it has been discovered again! You can tell the Boyz had a great time making this clip and we thought we shouldn’t hide this from you.

Christian Doepke on Tour

Born in Munich (Germany) Christian started playing piano at the age of fourteen. After taking privat lessons he played his first gigs as a keyboarder with a popgroup playing original music. In 1989 he attended the Conservatory of Arnhem (The Netherlands), studying Jazzpiano.

PAROV STELAR LIVE DATES

With his unmistakable sound-mix of Jazz- and Swing samples and electronic music, Parov Stelar has secured his own unique position in the world of music. His eagerly awaited fourth album “Coco” was released in spring 2009. With the live show of the Parov Stelar Band many of the well known tracks from his albums and singles are presented on stage. After his initial record releases, using different aliases as well as his real name, Marcus Füreder founded Etage Noir Recordings in 2003. Since then he has released all music under the moniker Parov Stelar. In 2004 his „KissKiss EP“ and the soon after released album LP „Rough Cuts“ provided his break- through in the international electronic music scene. His uncommon approach to music-production combined with an assured sense of sound-aesthetics led to massive respect from his colleagues and the reputation as the pioneer of a new genre (which Rainer Trüby once called „Minimal Jazz House“) The following albums „Seven and Storm“ and „Shine“, as well as numerous singles and remixes made Parov Stelar one of the most reliable and successful artists of his kind.
